This step-by-step will guide you through creating a custom Gmail signature with clickable social media icons.

Make sure you are logged into the Gmail account you are changing the signature for.

1. Click on the gear drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner.

2. Click Settings. You will be working in the General tab which is the 1st tab.

3. Scroll down to the signature portion of the Settings.

4. Click the bubble under the "No Signature" bubble.

5. Put the cursor 2 lines under your name and/or any other contact information you share in your signature.

6. Click on the "Insert Image" button.

7. Right click on one of the following images and select "Copy image address." Paste next to "Paste an image URL here;" in Gmail. (this step needs to completed at amydeangelo.com/home/addsocialmediaiconstogmail because I don't want to trust hosting pictures via LinkedIn)

Please note: These logos were legally downloaded from the Brand Resources page for social media Platform and then resized and uploaded on to this website. (last updated on 2/27/2019) If there is an icon that you want that you don't see here, please contact me and I can add it.

7. The icon will now appear where you had your cursor. Highlight this icon just as you would normal text.

8. Click on the link button that look likes a chain.

9. Paste the URL of your social media profile in the space provided for "Web address." For instance, if I highlight the Twitter icon, I would input "twitter.com/theamydeangelo". Leave the "Text to display" blank. Click OK. Note: if you are having trouble with this step, please try a couple times and you should eventually get an option to "change" the URL after you've highlighted the icon.

Repeat all steps for every social media icon you want to include. Make sure to put a space in between the icons for cleanliness. Don't forget to hit the "Save Changes" button on the bottom of the Settings page.

HOT TIPS:

1. Be sure to test the icons by sending an email to yourself and clicking on each icon from the email you receive. The icons don't actually work when you are composing an email but it will work after the email is sent.

2. Copy your entire signature (including your new icons) and paste it into multiple accounts. The links still work! Although, you should still test them as described in Tip 1.
